This is part of a sign I found at a construction site. It had several different figure symbols to show the different requirements for entering the site; wear a helmet and wear safety glasses for example. I thought this one was especially cool, and I think I managed to make a nice picture out of this quite boring sign;-)

I had some trouble with syncing with Lightroom and all the comment and faves on this image were lost:-( Sorry about that! I think I have the procedure worked out now. Just wanted all you kind people on flickr to know that I didn’t delete your comment on purpose;-)
“We arrived on earth. Thank you for flying with Intergalactic Space Travels. We wish you a pleasant stay.”
And just what is going on with my Dad’s hair? XD

I really need to start getting my head wrapped around my camera. Taking a breathe… after all I’m just a beginner, but I feel so technically challenged.
Original shot was captured RAW and converted to TIFF using ViewNX.
Stacked close-up filters +17
F-stop f/32
ISO 100
Exposure 0.77
Focal length 38mm
Manual program
Light source natural / no flash
Light Meter 0
Edited in Photoshop adjusting the scale and rotation slightly, as well as needing to clone out some distracting words on the upper left and lower right of the shot.
Increased the hue +17 and saturation +28 to deepen the blue.
All so boring, I know, but it’s really there for me to help in my journey of learning how to use this blasted camera that I’m so attached to.
At Union Station in San Diego. I love this place. It is lovely Spanish Colonial Revival style that seems to sit so well in the modern downtown space. San Diego is one of the very few USA cities that has not killed its downtown district I feel.
